Policemen clear the field of enthusiastic fans as The Beatles perform on a bandstand in Candlestick Park, San Francisco, California, Aug 30, 1966. (Source: Time Magazine)
Thanks to my friend Pullmydaisy Too, I had a trip down memory lane tonight, looking at all the photos of the Beatles and Paul McCartney published by Time Magazine in commemoration of Paul’s 70th birthday (still can’t believe he’s that old, means I’m getting older too!)… Among the photos I found this one… the Beatles very last concert performance (we didn’t know at the time)…at Candlestick Park in San Francisco… I WAS THERE! Will never forget it. It was so crazy, they had to bring the Beatles out to the barricaded stage (which was where 3rd base would be) in an Armored Truck for God’s sake! Well, so it was with Beatlemania…never was and never will be anything like Beatlemania again, and I’m so glad I was part of it (a true “Beatlemaniac”) and saw the Beatles 4 separate times during all the craziness… Beatles 4-Ever!!!!!! xoxo
