FANFIC RECOMMENDATION:  ”Meadow of the Midnight Sun” by HeartOfDarkness   I recently started reading the Twilight Saga from start to finish for it has been years since I read the original books by Stephanie Meyer. I am really enjoying this fanfic… if you are looking for sexy times between Edward and Bella, this is not it…but if you are looking for a really good EPOV of New Moon… don’t think you can do better that is fanfic by blondie… I love immersing myself in the character of Edward as she has written him. If you loved the unfinished “Mid-Night Sun” by Stephanie, you will love this fanfic :-)

Wonderful character development, historical (Edward’s life as a human in 1918), and a bit of time travel via a magical desk connecting —via letters,— human Edward of 1918 and Bella of 2009; and eventually vampire Edward and Bella in modern times. The chapters are long, beautifully descriptive and interesting… and you will fall in love with human Edward. It is a work in progress, currently at chapter 23 (I’ve only completed reading thru chapter 20 but am sure I will catch up to 23 before the night is done!). Excerpt from Chapter 20:

“The alarm went off like twenty minutes ago. That’s ok, right? You’re not too late yet?”

“No, it’s perfect. I need to get dressed in a bit though.”

I slowly incline my head to the left and to the right and flinch at the sound of a vertebrae snapping. My neck and shoulders feel pretty stiff. Yesterday’s events, the good and the bad, are taking their toll, I guess. I’m a little sore all over.

And it doesn’t go unnoticed. Edward’s smile falters.

“Are you…” he starts but stops mid-question, his lips left parted. The indication of a frown appears for a split-second and his hand squeezes my knee reflexively, as he seems to process something at lightning speed. It’s intriguing to watch.

“Are you all right…” he starts again, and then pointedly adds, “…baby?”

It makes my stomach flutter. I cover his hand on my knee with mine and merely breathe my answer.

“Yes, I am. Just need to warm up a little. Not much of a morning person, you know?”

He looks down on our hands and interlaces fingers with me. “It’s okay when I call you that, right? When I call you ‘baby’?”

“I like it. Very much.”
